Fallen Firefighter Joshua Laird Escorted To Taneytown Funeral Home
TANEYTOWN, Md. (WJZ) -- A hearse carrying Green Valley Battalion Chief Joshua Laird was escorted from Washington D.C. to Taneytown Saturday afternoon.
The 21-year veteran died battling a fire Wednesday after falling through the floor of a home in Ijamsville.
There will a second procession that takes Laird's body from Taneytown to a funeral home in his hometown of Fairfield, Pa.
The date of that and of his funeral have not yet been announced.
Laird, 46, is survived by his wife and two daughters.
