BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Jimmy John's is the latest company to report a security breach for customers who used credit cards at 216 of it's 2,000 stores nationwide.

Although the Champaign, Ill.-based sandwich shop has several Maryland locations, including three in Baltimore, none of the Maryland locations were affected by the breach, according to a news release from the chain.

The restaurant believes that someone stole log-in credentials and remotely installed malware on machines that swiped credit cards. Cards that were manually entered weren't affected.

Some customer's credit card numbers, expiration dates, verification codes and names were stolen between June 16 and Sept. 5, the company reports.

The closest locations to Maryland affected by the breach are a location in Newark, Del. and one in Virginia Beach, Va.
