Jeremy Conn: Big Weekend Series For Orioles

Right now as it stands the Orioles are 2.5 games out of the AL Wild Card race. They are looking up at the Twins, Angels and Rangers. They are also tied with the Rays. Whether you believe the Orioles are done or still have a shot, every game has a playoff feel to it. They have a 3 game set with the Rangers and they must win this series. They don't have to sweep, the goal remains to win series.

The Orioles will face good teams the rest of the way. They will have 7 games against the Rays and Jays, 6 games against the Yankees and Red Sox, and 3-game sets against the Rangers, Royals and Nationals.

During this weekend series they are set to face 3 lefties in Perez, Hamels and Derek Holland. There is some excitement in Birdland regarding reports of Dariel Alvarez being called up for the series. Also Adam Jones spoke to reporters and it sounds like he will be ready for the series after being pulled from the game after crashing into the wall.
