Jason La Canfora Previews The NFL Draft

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to take a look at the NFL Draft and update the guys on the rumors floating around the NFL. There have been rumors swirling about some movement within the top 10 picks of the draft. Jason believes we could see a lot of action come draft day. "Picks are so cheap. They're at a fixed finite cost that you can predict and budget. There's no negotiation. You don't have to pay more because a guy is a quarterback, or because you traded up to get him or because he has a great agent. That's all out the window.  In the last few years, we're seen a lot more movement in the top ten picks."

Another situation that effects the top 10 in the NFL Draft is the rumored trade talks between the Tennessee Titans and San Diego Chargers for Quarterback Phillip Rivers. Rivers is entering the final year of his deal, Jason gave his thoughts on what could happen between the teams. "The Chargers would like to solve their Phillip Rivers problem. They'd like to sign him long term, but he won't do an extension if there's a possibility of going to LA, I heard he wants to be in that. There are only two quarterbacks in this draft, and the second is in play as the second overall pick, where the other id definitely going first."

Adrian Peterson has been reinstated in the NFL after a long stint on the commissioners exempt list and it's been reported from multiple outlets that he could be on the move. Jason gave his pick for where Peterson could land. "I think the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will pick up Adrian Peterson. They'll have to give a second round pick and something conditional, like a second or fourth round pick next year. I know the Vikings are looking for a one, but I don't see that happening. He's a violent runner, who's taken a lot of damage, and has had two ACL surgeries. That's not a first round package in my opinion."?
