FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- January's snowstorm cost public schools and county and municipal governments in Frederick County $3.9 million.

According to a preliminary damage assessment report, county government agencies spent about $1.8 million responding to the snowstorm.

Nine municipalities in the county spent a total of $1.6 million. The town of Brunswick had storm-related costs of more than $251,000, the report states. About $160,000 went to replace and repair the public works building that collapsed after the storm and the equipment inside.
