Investigators Reveal New Clues In DC Mansion Murders

WASHINGTON (WJZ)—Detectives investigating the quadruple murder of a family kidnapped, tortured and killed inside their Washington, D.C.  home have a new person of interest.

Amy Yensi has more.

Search warrants reveal police are suspicious of Jordan Wallace, the personal driver and assistant to Savvas Savopoulous.

The businessman, his wife Amy, their 10 year old son Philip-and the family's house keeper, Veralicia Gigueroa, were all held hostage, tortured and killed in an apparent extortion plot last month.

Police say Wallace who delivered the ransom to the Savopoulous mansion in Washington, D.C., changed his account about how he got and what he did with the $40, 000.

Investigators seized Wallace's phone to determine his whereabouts in the days before the crime. The prime suspect is still Daron Wint--who's currently in custody.

Former FBI Director Ron Hosko says detectives are trying to find if there's any connection between Wint and Wallace.

Court documents reveal police found a single broken window pane on a side door and a visible shoe print on the house, suggesting a forced entry, reversing the theory that Wint, a former employee for Savapolous was invited into the home.

The documents also detail how 10-year-old Philip Savoupolous was so badly burned and disfigured, fire fighters could not determine his race or gender.

Police also believe the suspects stole the cell phones of the three adult victims and have been tracking the location of those phones, hoping new leads or suspects.

Investigators are still searching for the family's extensive security system. CBS News learned Wednesday that the video recorder is missing.
