Inner Harbor P.F. Chang's Restaurant Hit By Credit Card Data Breach

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- P. F Chang's customers at the Inner Harbor location may be victims of a debit and credit card security breach.

The widespread data breach affected 33 United States locations. The restaurant at 600 E. Pratt Street in downtown Baltimore is the only location impacted in Maryland.

The company says that between April 10 and June 11,  its card processing system was breached. During that time, card numbers, cardholders' names and expiration dates may have been stolen.

PF. Chang's was alerted to a possible breach on June 10 by the U.S. Secret Service and launched an ongoing investigation. The company says it had the problem contained by the next day and has been processing credit and debit cards securely since June 11.

"Since being alerted to the security compromise that we believe may have affected certain domestic P.F. Chang's China Bistro restaurants, our team has worked continuously to investigate the security compromise and to ensure the security of our guests' credit and debit card information. The security compromise has been contained and P.F. Chang's has been processing credit and debit card data securely at all locations since June 11, 2014,"  said P.F. Chang's CEO Rick Federico in a statement released Monday.

Anyone who suspects fraudulent activity on a credit or debit card should report it to the card company or bank.

Chang's said it will offer customers free identity protection through AllClear Secure for the next 12 months and set up a confidential hot line to answer questions, available Monday through Saturday at 1-877-412-7152.

The chain's Pei Wei restaurants were not affected by the breach.
