Inmate Found Stabbed to Death at Jessup Correctional

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Authorities are investigating after an inmate was found stabbed to death at Jessup Correctional Institution on Sunday morning.

The inmate, identified as 43-year-old John O'Sullivan, was found lying on the floor in the F building bleeding profusely from multiple stab wounds about 10 a.m. after corrections officers were called to a fight in progress, according to Maryland State Police.

Several inmates seen walking away from the victim were taken into custody for questioning, according to police.

No charges have been filed yet.

O'Sullivan was serving a sentence of 17 years and six months that started in April 28, 2005 following his conviction for second-degree assault, a spokesperson for the state department of public safety and correctional services told WJZ.
