I-95 Northbound Shut Down For Overturned Tractor Trailer

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Drivers should plan other routes for travel today as I-95 northbound past Exit 52 will be shut down until further notice after a tractor trailer overturned this morning.

Members from the Baltimore City Fire Department responded to the scene around 11:40 a.m.

The tractor was carrying 12 shipping touts, each of which contained 325 gallons of Polyether modified trisiloxane, a petroleum based product.

One tout was penetrated and is leaking the substance but due to the positioning of the trailer, the quantity has not yet been determined.

Two state employees were injured from exposure and contamination from the substance but their injuries are non-life-threatening.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured and is still on the scene.

Maryland Transportion Police will be responsible for determining the cause of the accident when the scene is rendered safe.
