Human Remains Found In Anne Arundel County

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ) -- Human remains were found Tuesday evening in the Point Pleasant area of Glen Burnie in Anne Arundel County.

Officials said they were found behind Good Sheppard Church.

Officials searched the area Wednesday for more information and continued to search Thursday.

The focus was a stretch of Marley Creek in the Point Pleasant Community.

Police say a citizen called in saying she thought she found human remains.

When police looked, detectives were called.

"We did recover human remains and detectives remain on the scene actively searching the area," Anne Arundel County Police Sgt. Jacklyn Davis said.

Police aren't yet able to determine if it's the body of a male or female.

"Seeing whatever they can find because we don't know what this is right now," Davis said. "This could be something of natural causes that just happened in this area or it could be something malicious, so we're making sure no stone is unturned,"

This is a developing story. Stay with WJZ for updates.
