Howard County Sobriety Checkpoints Nets 3 Arrests

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) -- Police in Howard County say three people were arrested as a result of a sobriety checkpoint set up in Savage.

Police say they set up the checkpoint Friday evening on southbound US Route 1 between Howard Street and Gorman Road.

Police say two drivers were arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. One of the drivers was also charged with driving without a license. An additional driver was arrested for driving on a revoked license.

Police say more than 1,000 vehicles passed through the checkpoint Friday evening and early Saturday morning.
