Howard County Police: Clarksville Man Entered Station, Threatened Officers

LAUREL, Md. (WJZ)--Howard County Police say a Clarksville man walked into its Southern District Station and made threats against officers, referring to possible explosive devices in and around the building.

Benjamin Parsons, 34, was immediately taken into custody. He was charged with one count of making a false statement regarding a destructive device and one count of threatening arson.

Police say it happened around 4:40 p.m. Sunday in Laurel.

The police station, adjacent fire station and several nearby businesses in a strip mall were evacuated as officials searched both the police and fire stations.

No devices were found.

Officers say police service was never interrupted.

Parsons is being held at the Howard County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.
