Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills 2 Drivers In Columbia

COLUMBIA, Md. (WJZ) -- A multi-vehicle crash kills two drivers in Howard County.

It happened just after noon Thursday on westbound Rt. 175 at Rt. 108 in Columbia.

Investigators say 67-year-old Lucinda Miller sideswiped a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the road.

Miller then continued and sideswiped another vehicle stopped at a red light, went through the intersection and struck a Honda turning onto Rt. 108.

Miller was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The woman driving the Honda, 26-year-old Monteia Carter, died at the scene.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that Miller may have suffered a medical emergency.

Several roadways in the area were closed.
