Howard Co. Police Investigate Crash That Left 1 Dead

ELKRIDGE, Md. (AP) -- Howard County police are investigating a car wreck that left one pedestrian dead.

Police say the accident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. on Friday when a Toyota Corolla traveling northbound on Washington Boulevard and Loudon Avenue in Elkridge struck a pedestrian trying to cross the road.

The pedestrian, identified as 47-year-old Vernon Edward Anderson, was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver was uninjured.

Police say a preliminary investigation revealed pedestrian error.
