Holocaust Survivor, Nobel Peace Prize Winner Elie Wiesel Dead At 87

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Holocaust survivor, Nobel laureate and renowned author Elie Wiesel has died at the age of 87.

Born in Romania in 1928, Wiesel passed away Saturday. There are few details about his death at this time.

Isreal's Haaretz Newspaper first reported the news.

Boston University is home to the Elie Wiesel Center for Jewish Studies.

Wiesel won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986, and wrote about his family's experiences in the Auschwitz concentration camp in his memoir, "Night."
