Health Officials Hand Out Free Zika Prevention Kits In DC

WASHINGTON (WJZ) -- Fighting back against Zika. Health officials spent the day handing out free Zika virus prevention kits in Washington DC.

The kits include insect repellent, condoms and mosquito dunks. Mosquito dunks can be put in ponds, puddles and other places with standing water to kill mosquito eggs.

According to the CDC, there are more than 500 cases of Zika across the US, including 16 here in Maryland. All are related to overseas travel.
