Student Taken Into Custody Following Text Message Shooting Threat

HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. (WJZ) — A Harford County school was on lockdown briefly after a threat made by a student.

Police say a student received a text message from another student about a shooting at Havre de Grace High School.

That student went to a school resource officer, and the lockdown was put into place.

Officers tell our media partner, The Baltimore Sun, the threat does not appear to be substantiated.

They say one student was mad at another, and the text was sent to the general public.

The 16-year-old suspect was taken into custody around 11 a.m. No charges have been filed.

The lockdown was lifted around noon.
