Harford Co. Flag To Be Flown At Half-Staff To Honor Dead Paramedic
BEL AIR, Md. (WJZ) -- County Executive Barry Glassman has ordered the Harford County flag to be flown at half-staff in honor of Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company paramedic, Erik Steciak who died on Tuesday after responding to a crash.
The county flag will be lowered Wednesday, Jan. 7 and remain at half-staff until sunset on the date of his funeral services.
County Executive Glassman is formally requesting that the Maryland State flag be flown at half-staff on the date of his funeral services.
"The people of Harford County extend our sympathy and prayers to Erik's family in honor of his ultimate sacrifice in serving our citizens," County Executive Glassman said. "We also send our prayers out to his brothers and sisters of the West Friendship Volunteer Fire Company where he was a longtime member."
