Hagerstown Woman Gets 25 Years In 2014 Christmas Eve Slaying
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- A Hagerstown woman has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for her role in the Christmas Eve 2014 slaying of another woman along a highway near Frederick.
Twenty-year-old Neajee Terry stood silent at her sentencing Thursday in Frederick. The court suspended another five years of prison time.
Terry pleaded guilty last month to conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 20-year-old Malicia Smith of Hagerstown. Smith's body was found along U.S. 40 west of Frederick on Dec. 24, 2014.
The deal is conditioned on Terry testifying truthfully against co-defendant Curtis Evans at his trial in March.
Terry and Evans were both charged with first- and second-degree murder, among other charges in Smith's death. Both accused the other of firing the fatal shots.
