Hagel To Speak At Naval Academy Graduation

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is the scheduled graduation speaker for the U.S. Naval Academy.

The academy announced the speaker for the commencement ceremony on Tuesday.

Hagel became the first enlisted combat veteran to lead the Department of Defense when he was sworn in February last year.

Before becoming the secretary of defense, Hagel served as co-chairman of President Barack Obama's intelligence advisory board.

About 1,000 students will graduate from the academy on May 23.
