Grave Marker Stolen From Historical Site In Crofton

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- The desecration of a historical grave site in Anne Arundel County is under investigation after someone stole a grave marker from the property.

The vandal or vandals entered the Linthicum Walks property, located in the 2200 block of Davidsonville Road in Crofton, sometime during the overnight hours between May 18 and 19 and took a marble footstone, according to police.

The footstone, which is engraved with the initials "JL," is an artifact from Maryland's history. It's believed to be more than 250 years old.

Anyone with information on the stolen artifact is asked to call police at 410-222-6155.
