Grand Jury Indicts Man In Fatal Church Stabbing Case

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- A Frederick County grand jury has indicted a northern Virginia man on murder and attempted murder charges in the stabbing last month of a South Korean couple at a rural religious retreat.

State's Attorney Charlie Smith announced the indictment Friday of 30-year-old Song Su Kim of Falls Church. Kim was originally charged July 27. The indictment moves the case from district court to circuit court. No trial date has been set.

Sixty-three-year-old Chung Hwan Park of Suwon, South Korea, was killed in the July 26 attack at the Anna Prayer Counseling and Retreat Center near Urbana. His wife, 57-year-old Ae Suk Ko, is recovering. They had come to Maryland to assist at the nondenominational Christian retreat.

Kim's public defender didn't immediately return a call from The Associated Press.
