Governor Larry Hogan's Sister Has Died

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Governor Larry Hogan's sister, Mary Theresa Lazarus, has died.

In a Facebook post, he wrote that his heart was broken.

He posted, "My heart is broken. My only sister passed away this morning. Mary Theresa Lazarus was the best big sister anyone could ever ask for. I was always so proud of her. She was a wonderful wife to her husband Bob, and an incredible mother of my niece Becky, my nephews Keith and Kevin and the greatest grandmother of her eight grandchildren. Our entire family is deeply saddened by our loss. The world was a better place because of her time with us. May she rest in peace."

The cause of death is not known.
