Gov. Hogan Names New Communications Chief

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Gov. Larry Hogan has named Douglass Mayer as his administration's director of communications.

Hogan made the announcement in a press release Monday afternoon.

Mayer has been deputy director of communications for Hogan, a Republican, since January 2015. Previously, he was communications director for South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

Mayer will succeed Matthew Clark, who is returning to FTI Consulting in Washington.
