GOP Candidate Files To Run For Attorney General

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Unlike Maryland's last race for attorney general, a Republican has filed to run.

Jeffrey Pritzker filed to run Monday at the state elections board.

Pritzker is an attorney in Towson. So far, he's the only Republican to file to run in the attorney general's race, and the filing deadline is Tuesday at 9 p.m.

In the 2010 election, Republicans did not field a candidate against Democrat Doug Gansler, who won a second term with 98 percent of the vote. Gansler is running for governor this year.
