Glen Burnie Man Charged In 80-Year-Old Mother's Murder

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A 57-year-old Glen Burnie man has been arrested and charged with first degree murder after police say he killed his mother.

On Nov. 12, around 1:30 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Sandsbury Avenue.

They had gotten a call from an out-of-state relative, who told them Roy Robinson had called them and stated he had killed his mother, Elizabeth Robinson.

Upon arrival to the home, officers discovered Elizabeth Robinson's body. She had died from apparent sharp force trauma to her upper body.

Officers also located Roy Robinson, who stated that he had killed his mother.

Roy Robinson had minor wounds to his upper body that appeared to be self-inflicted.

He was transported to an area hospital and is currently listed in stable condition. Homicide detectives responded and assumed the investigation.
