Giant Food Recalls Frito Lays Products

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Giant Food has announced a voluntary recall of select Frito Lays products because they may contain peanut residue, which is not included on the ingredients list.

The recalled products are considered safe to be consumed by most people but the Food and Drug Administration advises anyone who suffers from peanut allergies to avoid the following products with "guaranteed fresh" date ranging from June 28, 2016 to August 23, 2016:

  • Rold Gold Pretzel Thins Original, 16 oz.
  • Rold Gold Pretzel Thins Original, 4 oz.
  • Rold Gold Pretzel Sticks Original, 16 oz.
  • Rold Gold Pretzel Tiny Twists Original, 16 oz.
  • Rold Gold Pretzel Braided Honey Wheat, 10 oz.

As well as the following products with "used by" dates ranging from June 14 to August 9, 2016:

  • Baked & Popped Mix Variety Pack 20 ct., 16.875 oz.
  • Fun Times Mix 32 ct., 30.375 oz.
  • SunChips & Rold Gold Mix 20 ct., 20 oz.

Giant Food encourages customers who have purchased any of the recalled items to discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Giant to receive a full refund.
