Giant Eagle Recalls Pecan, Walnut Cookies Over Milk Labeling

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- The Pittsburgh-based Giant Eagle supermarket chain is recalling Walnut Delight and Pecan Tassie cookies because labels wrongly omitted milk as an ingredient.

That could cause problems for people with milk allergies.

Giant Eagle is recalling all cookie packages with "sell-by" dates through Tuesday.

The chain wants customers to throw away the cookies or return them for a refund.

Giant Eagle has 175 corporate and 54 independently-owned and operated supermarkets, plus 178 GetGo! fuel and convenience stores in western Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio and West Virginia.
