Protests were held in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County and others jurisdictions around Maryland.

Some demonstrators gathered in Pasadena. WJZ's Kelsey Kushner talked with some of the protesters who called for justice.

"The time is now, enough is enough," one protester said.

Hundreds of peaceful protesters grabbed signs and stood in solidarity.

"I'm out here to help stop injustice against black people," one protester said. "It's been going on for so long."

Under the hot sun, crowds of people chanted Black Lives Matter for over an hour. Fueled by the need for change, many said they hope their voices were heard.

"I think change will come from this," another protester said. "We still got a long way to go."

Demonstrators also gathered in White Marsh along Honeygo Boulevard to speak out against the death of George Floyd. They chanted out the names of some of the black men and women who were killed while in police custody and called for change.

"I'm standing up for something that I strongly believe in," Aya Neal said. "Something that's a huge problem in America right now and needs to be addressed."

Protesters said they want to be part of a big movement, and said the demonstrations could make a big difference.

"This is a world-wide thing and I don't think it's ever been this big," Neal said. "I think this will definitely help change things."
