Gay Street Closed This Weekend For More Repairs

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Street repairs along Gay Street in downtown Baltimore will continue this weekend, after public works officials found more damage to a storm drain following last week's water main break.

According to the city's Department of Public Works, repairs to the water main at Gay and Saratoga streets were completed over the weekend and a new water valve was also installed. But officials noted that a storm drain in the area was damaged and they are planning to repair that this weekend.

Gay Street between Lexington Street and Saratoga Street will be closed to traffic throughout the weekend starting at 7 p.m. Friday.

Two lanes will be reopened Monday morning before rush hour.

Buildings in the vicinity of the work however, will not have their water turned off.

Citizens with any water-related questions or concerns can call 311 in Baltimore City; 410-396-5352 in Baltimore County.
