Gas Leak Closes Frederick Community College; No Injuries

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick Community College is closed while workers repair a natural gas line.

Frederick County Fire and Rescue Services Capt. Kevin Fox says a backhoe hit an outside gas line Wednesday. He says firefighters were dispatched shortly after 9:30 a.m. but campus maintenance workers had apparently stopped the leak.

A recording on the college switchboard says the campus is closed until 4 p.m. as a precaution while crews repair the line.
