Gary Myers On The Rivalry Between Peyton Manning And Tom Brady

Gary Myers covered the NFL for more than three decades, and he is currently a football columnist for the New York Daily News.

Gary joined Ken and Steve to talk about his new book 'Brady Vs Manning: The Untold Story Of The Rivalry That Transformed The NFL'.

Steve asked Gary about the relationship between Peyton and Tom. Gary noted that a pleasant surprise was finding out how close the two quarterbacks are, "I think that's one of the fun things I have found out. They are really good friends and it goes way beyond just shaking each others hands before and after games. I think they relate to each other and as a result have bonded over the years."

Ken asked Gary about whether the Tom Brady email leaks have damaged their friendship at all. Gary said that the two were able to quickly smooth things over, "I know that Tom got a hold of Peyton right after that happened to apologize. I don't think he meant it as a criticism of Peyton, it just doesn't appear that he will play much longer."

Gary went on to discuss both quarterbacks being good practical jokers, Wes Welker's insights into playing with both quarterbacks, and his take on Tom Brady's culpability in the Deflate-gate saga.
