Gaddis Installed As Superintendent In Somerset

WESTOVER, Md. (AP) -- John Gaddis has been installed as the permanent superintendent of schools in Somerset County.

Gaddis had been serving as interim superintendent since June 2013. He took over following the abrupt resignation of Marjorie Miles, who quit halfway through a four-year contract.

The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that the Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Gaddis. He'll work on a short-term contract until his four-year contract takes effect July 1.

The new superintendent was previously an assistant superintendent in Worcester County.
