Funeral Services Announced For Teen Killed In Owings Mills
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A Baltimore County teen will be laid to rest after he was killed in a crash earlier this week in Owings Mills.
Tyree Brown II was struck along Lakeside Blvd. near Common Brook Road in Owings Mills last Sunday afternoon.
"He started to run across Lakeside Blvd and was struck by a Honda Civic that was traveling westbound," said Baltimore County Police Corporal John Wachter.
The 16-year-old was taken to the hospital where he later died. Police say the driver stayed at the scene.
Hundreds in the community gathered to remember the young teen during a vigil on Wednesday night.
"(Tyree) was dedicated to the sport. I can't say it enough. He worked hard day in and day out and as a mother all I could do was try to protect him, all the time," said April Brown, Tyree's mother.
Those wishing to pay their respects can do so during a public viewing on January 6th, from 5:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. at Wylie Funeral Homes.
The funeral for Tyree will be held January 7th from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at New Antioch Baptist Church.
Baltimore County police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
