Frostburg State Administrator Named Interim President

FROSTBURG, Md. (AP) -- The University System of Maryland says a longtime Frostburg State University administrator will serve as interim president of the school in western Maryland.

Chancellor William Kirwan announced Tom Bowling's appointment Friday. Bowling has been vice president for student affairs since 2006. He's been a Frostburg State administrator since 1976.

Bowling will temporarily succeed Jonathan Gibralter, who is leaving June 30 to become president of Wells College in Aurora, New York.

Kirwan says he'll soon announce the appointment of a committee to conduct a national search for the next Frostburg State president.
