Freight Train Strikes, Kills Pedestrian In Beltsville

BELTSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A person has been killed after being hit by a train in Prince George's County.

The accident occurred early Monday morning in Beltsville, Maryland, when a 57-car train carrying food products struck the unidentified victim on the tracks.

MARC's Camden Line uses the same tracks, but a CSX official says MARC trains should be able to use an alternate line of tracks. No delays have been reported, as of early Monday morning.
