Free Produce Giveaway For Low-Income Baltimore Residents

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Officials in Baltimore are distributing free produce to low-income residents.

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Baltimore City Health Commissioner Leana Wen are helping to distribute the produce on Saturday. The giveaway is at the site of the Baltimore Farmers Market at Fallsway and Saratoga Street, under the Jones Falls Expressway.

Volunteers are giving out 8,000 pounds of fresh produce donated by the Maryland Food Bank and farmers statewide. The annual event is aimed at providing healthy food options for low-income residents.
