Frederick Police Union Event Supports Law Enforcement

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — The union representing Frederick police officers is holding a rally to support law enforcement.

Sgt. Jonathan Shatlock tells The Frederick News-Post that the rally Sunday afternoon also includes a request for donations for the families of the eight officers recently gunned down in Dallas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Shatlock is president of Fraternal Order of Police Francis Scott Key Lodge 91.

He says the union is calling the event a "Blue Lives Matter" rally.

About 150 people participated in a "Black Lives Matter" rally in downtown Frederick on July 8.
