Freddie Gray Officers Honored at Awards Ceremony

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ)-- Conservative media watchdog group, The Media Research Center recognized three of the six officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray Thursday, at its annual black-tie gala in Washington D.C., according to the Daily Beast.

The cops who were charged in relation to Gray's death in April 2015, were the guests of honor at the awards ceremony. In July, charges against three of them were dropped after the rest had already been acquitted.

Deneen Borelli acknowledged the officers with a speech, and were received with applause and a standing ovation.

The Media Research Center is a right-wing nonprofit founded in the Reagan era by activist and conservative ideologue L. Brent Bozell.
