Four Boys Charged With Attempted Robbery in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) -- Wilmington police say four boys have been arrested after attempting to rob a man on a bicycle.

Sgt. Andrea Janvier says a 51-year-old man reported being approached Tuesday on his bike by an 11-year-old, two 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old near Christina Park.

Janvier says one of the boys asked the man about his bike while another removed a large rock from his pocket and raised it over his head toward the man.

Janvier says the man pedaled away from the boys and reported the incident to a nearby officer in the area. The four boys fled but were later caught by police.

Janvier says all four face charges of attempted robbery and conspiracy. Bail was set at $5,000 for three of the suspects and $6,000 for one of the 14-year-olds.
