Former Os Pitcher Dave Johnson On Jimenez's Inconsistency

Former Orioles pitcher Dave Johnson talks about the struggling starts from Ubaldo Jimenez.

Ubaldo Jimenez (2-5) is still winless on the road in four tries. He ran into trouble in the third inning, giving up five runs and was chased from last night's game with two outs in the sixth. Jimenez gave up six earned runs on eight hits, walking three and striking out three.

Johnson said, "He is who we thought he'd be and he's consistently inconsistent and he is probably going to get another four or five starts before they do anything with him."

Teams are usually reluctant to take a guy out of rotation that they are playing a lot of money for.

Norris asked why Jimenez is so inconsistent and Johnson said this: "Most people don't have the type of throwing mechanics that he has.
