Former Court Commissioner Found Guilty of Soliciting Minor

GERMANTOWN, Md. (AP) — A former Montgomery County court commissioner has been found guilty of soliciting a minor.

News outlets report that 30-year-old Daniel Read of Germantown was convicted Wednesday of one felony count of solicitation of sex with a minor.

Arrest records show Read is accused of using social media and text messages to communicate with an undercover police detective who told Read he was a 15-year-old high school student.

Documents show Read was arrested in December after making plans to meet with the teenager at a fast food restaurant.

WTTG-TV (http://bit.ly/295POQd ) reports Read's attorney Ahmet Hisim says he doesn't believe Read was intending to have sex when he agreed to a face-to-face meeting.

Read faces up to 10 years in prison when he's sentenced in August.
