Foot Soldiers: Fort Meade Run Commemorates Sept. 11 Attacks

FORT MEADE, Md. (AP) — A military formation three miles long is marking the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks with a running event at Fort Meade.

The Army installation says in a statement that the annual run Friday morning is also meant to demonstrate the resilience of service members as the formation snakes though the sprawling installation south of Baltimore.

Fort Meade says every branch of the U.S. military service is represented in the formation.
