1st Case Of West Nile Virus Confirmed In Maryland This Year

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Maryland Department of Health confirms the first case of West Nile virus in Maryland this year.

The person is an adult who lives near Washington, D.C.

West Nile virus has also been found in mosquito pools collected in Harford, Montgomery, Prince George's and Talbot counties.

The elderly and people with compromised immune systems are most susceptible to getting sick from West Nile virus.
