The humidity levels will soar on Saturday. Combine the high humidity with higher temperatures and sunshine, the afternoon will definitely be a hot one. Expect high temperatures to reach the lower 90s, but factor in the humidity, and the heat index will range from 94 to 99 degrees. Please stay hydrated and take breaks during the hottest part of the day. There will be a cooling sea-breeze at the beaches that keeps high temperatures in the middle 80s.
STEAMY & HOT SATURDAY: Sunshine will help send temperatures soaring into the lower 90s during the afternoon. Combine that with humidity, and the heat index will range from 94-99. Don't overdo it Saturday and drink plenty of water. @WJZ pic.twitter.com/igo5jDSVw9

A weak cold front will drop down from the north Saturday evening and night. This may spark off a few isolated to scattered strong thunderstorms. The best chance for any isolated severe storms would be from Baltimore City and points north. The greatest risk from these storms would be pockets of damaging winds, hail, and heavy downpours. We're currently under a level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather issued by the Storm Prediction Center.
FEW STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS POSSIBLE LATE SATURDAY: While most of Saturday is dry, an approaching front arrives Sat. eve & night. This may spark off isolated to scattered strong storms. Greatest risk would be damaging winds. Best chance would be Baltimore & points north. @WJZ pic.twitter.com/4oU4DEnhkK

Sunday's weather looks similar to Saturday. Hazy, hot, and humid weather will continue with most of the time being rain-free. There is the chance of a few isolated storms, but those storms should be the exception and not the rule. Highs reach the lower 90s, but the heat index will once again range from 95 to 100.
HAZY, HOT, & HUMID WEEKEND IN MARYLAND: If you live in & around Baltimore, you'll feel traditional August heat & humidity this weekend. Some relief at the beaches with sea-breeze. Isolated to scattered strong to severe storms possible Saturday eve & night. @WJZ pic.twitter.com/IFDt4cDAvW

Looking ahead to the start of next week, a stronger cold front will approach the area Monday evening and night. This area of low pressure looks quite potent and will bring with it plenty of dynamics in the atmosphere. This means we'll have to watch closely for the potential of strong to severe late Monday into Monday night. Storms will linger into Tuesday morning before we dry out for the middle of the week.
