Several Firefighters Hurt In East Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Several firefighters were injured Wednesday battling a blaze in East Baltimore.

Firefighters first responded to a call around 7 p.m. in the 1500 block of E. Baltimore Street. They found heavy flames coming from the roof of a three-story row home.

Units were quickly able to put the fire out, and no nearby homes were damaged.

Three firefighters were hurt in the blaze. One was taken to Shock Trauma after falling off a ladder. He is expected to survive. Two others were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries.

The family living in the home was displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
