Rosedale Alternative School Evacuated For CO Leak From Auto Shop

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) — Three people were hospitalized after a carbon monoxide exposure at an auto shop in the same complex as a Baltimore County alternative school in Rosedale Thursday afternoon.

Baltimore County Fire crews responded to the 7000 block of Golden Ring Road for a carbon monoxide call with a man reported to be unconscious.

First responders also found two more people, a man and a woman, with symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure.

All three were taken to UMMS. An official at the scene said two were in serious condition and one was in critical condition.

Crews said the CO leak came from a piece of auto equipment operating at an auto shop in the same complex as the Rosedale Center alternative school.

The source has been shut off and CO levels are dropping as they ventilate the building.

The school was evacuated and no students or staff showed any signs of CO exposure.
