Fights Escalates Into Double Shooting In Cecil County

ELKTON, Md. (AP) -- Cecil County police say two people were injured in a double shooting in North East that erupted as a group of people were beating a woman with lawn furniture.

Police say two women were arguing outside of a party on the 2100 block of Maresca Circle when the altercation turned physical. Police say a group of people joined the fight and began targeting one of the women, kicking, punching and beating her with lawn furniture.

Police say the woman's husband tried to break up the fight and warned the group that he had a gun. Police say the man then fired several shots into the crowd, striking two people. Both shooting victims were transported to the hospital.

No charges have been filed.
