COLUMBIA, Md. (WJZ)—A reported gas explosion sets several town houses on fire in Howard County on Wednesday night.

Officials say the explosion left two people injured and as many as 6 homes destroyed in the fiery blast.

WJZ's Christie Ileto has the latest.

Cell phone video captures the terrifying moments after what residents say was a large blast.

It happened  in the 12000 block of Sleepy Horse Lane in Howard County.

Approximately 6 units suffered structural damaged during the blast. Authorities say those units are expected to be posted as uninhabitable

Howard County fire officials say two people were transported, one for smoke inhalation and a BGE employee for blast injuries.

Authorities say all residents have been accounted for and that they are working to determine the exact origin of the blast.

Investigators will remain on the scene to secure the area throughout the night.
