Fiat Used As Popemobile Going On Display In DC

WASHINGTON (AP) -- One of the two cars that transported Pope Francis during his visit to Washington last September is going on display at Washington's Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle.

The Archdiocese of Washington said in a statement that the car, a Fiat 500L, will be on view in front of the cathedral from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The two Fiats were donated to the Archdiocese in January and arrived in early March. The Archdiocese says the car will be used over the next year to "focus attention on the ministries, public service, community engagement and ongoing acts of mercy." The Archdiocese will use the hashtag (hash)DriveWithFrancis on social media so followers will know how the car is being used.

Plans for the second car haven't yet been announced.
